PRC
With one of the largest logistics property portfolios in Greater Shanghai, Greater Beijing and Greater Guangzhou, ESR has established a leading market position in the PRC. We are a major landlord for leading e-commerce companies, expanding with the burgeoning growth of the sector. We will continue to explore opportunities in new partnerships and joint ventures, as well as strategic investments, to further expand our platform. Best-in-class facilities and rapid response to market trends, plus keen insight into future industry developments have fuelled our success in this dynamic sector.
Japan
ESR is a top institutional operator in Japan, with a focus on Tier 1 cities including Greater Tokyo and Greater Osaka, and a leading landlord for third-party logistics (3PL) providers. Leveraging the continued growth of 3PL providers and e-commerce companies, we will continue to develop logistics facilities in locations that enhance our portfolio and complement our tenants’ business and expansion. ESR is also a leader in providing facilities with human-centric design. Our Nanko Distribution Centre 2 was the first logistics facility in Japan to obtain the ABINC (Association for Business Innovation in harmony with Nature and Community) certification.
South Korea
ESR builds, operates and invests in large-scale, modern logistics infrastructure and facilities in South Korea, with a focus on the greater Seoul and Busan markets. We will continue to pursue both development and core/core-plus opportunities to further strengthen our position as the largest logistics facilities supplier in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. In 2018, ESR’s South Korea platform was ranked first in the “Developer / East Asia / Non-listed” category, by GRESB, the world’s renowned ESG benchmark for real assets.
Singapore
In January 2017, ESR obtained control of the ESR-REIT manager and became the second largest unitholder of ESR-REIT, which invests in quality income-producing industrial properties including general industrial, logistics/warehouse, high-specs industrial, and business park. In October 2018, ESR-REIT completed its merger with Viva Industrial Trust, marking the first-ever merger of REITs listed on the Singapore Exchange. Today, ESR-REIT is one of the largest industrial REITs in Singapore with a portfolio of 57 assets comprising a GFA of over 1.4 million sqm, and an AUM of over US$2.2 billion. India
With an initial focus on Tier 1 cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and other strategic locations, ESR launched its India platform to capitalise on the growing demand for larger industrial facilities in modern logistics parks. Our best-in-class management team has strong market connections and local expertise in key aspects including land sourcing, development and leasing.
Australia
In Australia, ESR’s global standards are paired with local expertise to develop and manage a strong portfolio of assets. A fully integrated industrial real estate platform, ESR Australia has market leading capabilities in development, investment and asset management. Vietnam
In 2021, ESR entered the Vietnamese market to further expand its footprint in the high growth Southeast Asian region. Vietnam represents one of the most promising markets within Southeast Asia, benefiting from a range of favourable macro-economic and demographic factors including its high and stable GDP growth, rising income level and emerging middle class, rapid urbanisation and infrastructure development. It is also one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in the region and a key beneficiary of the growth of manufacturing and supply chain activities, fuelling the demand for modern, well-located logistics and industrial facilities over the long term.
Indonesia
The world’s fourth most populous nation and Southeast Asia’s largest economy, Indonesia is emerging as a major internet economy and logistics hub in the region. As the country’s logistics sector aspires to speed up its modernisation, ESR is well-positioned to thrive on the growing market demand, leveraging our development and asset management expertise across APAC.
